Summary:
The Sr.
Payroll Specialist will work collaboratively within the Payroll Team as part of our Finance Department.
This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and in accordance with Fessler & Bowman’s payroll policy.
This position is crucial to our organization and our Team Members.
The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the expectations of this role.
Five Key Roles of the Sr.
Payroll Specialist:
Preparation of assigned payrolls including following all balancing guidelines
Processing weekly payrolls for assigned employee groups, which includes data entry, tax updates, direct deposit updates and other miscellaneous payroll entries
Analysis of payroll data to ensure error free processing
Preparation of payroll funding, including payroll tax payments, garnishments, and union dues
Computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions and processing terminations
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Payroll support on garnishments and levies
Assist in year-end W-2 processing and reporting
Assist in payroll reporting for internal and external customers
Work closely with HR and Benefits, as well as other business units throughout the United States
Working collaboratively with other Finance personnel on special tasks and projects
Other relevant tasks as assigned
Education, Experience & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required, Associate degree preferred
3 years of related experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook with the ability to learn new systems/software
Travel:
Travel is not required for this position.
Work Environment:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be subject to a traditional office setting.
The employee must be comfortable with sitting for an extended period.
