Injection Molding Shift Supervisor

Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc.
, an industry leader in the manufacture of highly decorative second surface acrylics and decorative chrome plating on functional plastic components, is seeking a highly motivated, team player possessing a continuous improvement mindset, to join our team as a Shift Production MoldingSupervisor.
The position requires oversight of the entire production floor to ensure the efficient output of high quality plastic and chrome plated components.
REQUIREMENTS
At least 2-5 years of Production Supervisor experience with a demonstrated ability to manage 20 + employees and lead small teams.
At least 2 to 5 years experience in manufacturing with automotive production operations.
Must possess strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and organization skills.
Must possess working knowledge of quality systems and procedures based on the TS 16949 and ISO 14001 Standard as well as 6S Lean Manufacturing.
Above average PC skills for email and MS Office and QAD applications.
Leadership, team orientated motivation and coaching skills to develop self-directed employees.
SUMMARY
Responsible to function as Assembly Supervisor and to follow all TS 16949, ISO 14001 and 6S instructions.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB
-Determine employee assignments.
-Production reporting.
-Enforce safety and housekeeping “6S” rules at all times.
-Monitor and document SPC and production charts, as required.
-Monitor all processes and troubleshooting, as required.
-Maintain and ensure company policies and procedures.
-Recommend and participate in quality and productivity improvements.
-Maintain part quality to customer standards.
-Training employees in the department and updating the training matrix as required.
-Assist with scheduling of product to machine, mix and fit.
- Ensures that all applicable TS 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and work instructions are followed.
-Accident reporting- Must complete the Accident Investigation by end of that shift with pictures if possible and have the employee complete an accident report as soon as possible.
-Any other assignments as directed by management.
AUTHORITY
-Adjust and process associated equipment.
-Direct employees in production process.
-Initiate discipline and document, as required.
-Accountable for implementation of the Environmental Management System as it pertains to this position.
EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE (Preferred)
-At least 2-5 years Production supervisor experience
-2-5 years Plastic Processing Experience
-2-5 years manufacturing experience
-Injection Molding Machine and process knowledge.
-Basic SPC and Quality Inspection Knowledge
-Above average PC skills for email and MS Office and QAD applications.
-Math and reading skills, as applies.
-Effectively communicate to teams and management.
-Knowledge of 6S Lean Manufacturing safety practices.
