*Shared-Time Director for Special Services and Community Based Resources*
*Job Summary:*
The Shared-Time Director for Special Services and Community Based Resources is responsible for the coordination of special education programs and services in the assigned local school district(s).
The supervision of Community Based Resources is responsible for the development and the implementation of Program Plans, when applicable, and all multi-tiered programs and services within the assigned area.
The Director works with the Genesee Intermediate School District Assistant Superintendent of Special Services and other GISD administrators to coordinate and manage day-to-day special education services, projects, and other assignments as directed by the Assistant Superintendent.
*Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):*
1.
Responsible for the day-to-day coordination of special education programs and services in the assigned local school district(s) including:
a.
The monitoring and implementation of Individualized Education Programs for local district students.
b.
The coordination of pre-referral consultation activities, special education referral process, evaluations, and child find activities for the local district.
c.
The coordination of the professional development, state complaints, monitoring, and other activities required by the Michigan Department of Education and the U.
S.
Department of Education related to the provision of Special Education in the local district.
d.
The coordination of the collection of data related to special education, School Based Services-Medicaid, and other data collection activities related to special education required by the district or other entities.
e.
The coordination of professional development activities for local district staff (in cooperation with local district administration).
f.
May assist in the hiring, evaluation, and other matters related to the supervision of local district special education staff, at the request of the local district.
g.
Will provide consultation and support to local district parents regarding matters related to special education students and programs and services provided by the local district.
2.
Supervises, manages, evaluates, and disciplines GISD employees in the assigned area.
3.
Responsible for programs and services relating to K-12 Services.
4.
Provides technical assistance to local school districts regarding K-12 Services.
5.
Works with local school district administration in ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and ISD Laws, Rules and Regulations, the ISD Plan for Special Education Programs and Services, and all ISD and local district board policies and administrative guidelines.
6.
Works with the local school district superintendent(s), prepares reports and ensures that special education data are accurate and submitted in accordance with local school district timelines.
7.
May meet with the board of education and attend local school district board of education meetings if requested by the local school district superintendent(s).
8.
Serves as an active member of the Genesee County Association of Special Education Administrators.
9.
Represents the local school district(s) on local, state and national professional organizations.
10.
Manages and develops reports, utilizing program data.
11.
Develops and manages the budget relating to areas of responsibility under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent.
12.
Responsible for ensuring the collection of student, staff and other data for student information systems including Medicaid billing and other purposes.
13.
Utilizes data-based decision-making to establish, implement, and monitor goals related to priorities.
14.
Provides technical assistance to local school districts regarding K-12 Services.
15.
Works with the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services to coordinate, manage and supervise GISD services, projects and other assignments.
16.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.
00 - $130,000.
