A facility assistant manager has the written authority, responsibility and accountability for day to day operations within the residential care facility under the direction of the management team to support the goals of the organization
Experience:
- Previous experience in social work or a related field is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required
- Strong program development and management skills
- Ability to effectively manage relationships with clients, families, and other stakeholders
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and techniques
- Experience in basic budgeting and administrative tasks
-Behavior deescalation and documentation
Responsibilities:
- Be the support to the staff that provides the direct care and support to individuals with mental illness/developmental disabilities
- Ability to supervise and/or train direct care staff
-Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within AFC programs.
-Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
-Demonstrates all core competencies related to MI, DD, Autism, etc.
-Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
-Time management
- Have the ability to step in and take on the manager responsibilities when the manager is away
- Assist staff with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
- Follow guidelines for each individuals care plans
- Monitor and document client progress and behavior/oversee all direct care staff documentation
- Coordinate and attend appointments, outings and hospital stays if needed
- Answer to facility needs as second contact (First call is to the manager) in the escalation process
-Incident reporting, documenting, filing etc
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the overall well-being of clients
- Provide behavioral health support as needed
- Assist the facility manager with administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and record keeping.
- Weekly grocery list and menus
- Track supply inventory for weekly/monthly orders
